Mara: Idols is racist

Johannesburg – A race row has erupted around the TV reality show Idols after one of the judges, Mara Louw, lashed out to reporters about the new Idol, Elvis Blue.
She said Idols was full of racism and if M-Net did not soon sell the competition to the SABC, South Africans would never have a black winner.
Louw said: "L'loyd should have won. Finish and klaar!"
"Black people don't have access to DStv," said Louw. "So a large part of South Africa is excluded. White people vote for white people and black people get the short end of the stick."

It is the first time that an Idols judge comes out to slam a winning Idol. Her comments may affect her role in the popular series in future.
Although the numbers showed that Elvis got almost twice as many votes as L'loyd, Louw said: "South Africans are still racist."
Third judge Randall Abrahams said he disagreed. "To say that white people vote white and black people vote black, you have to know every person who is voting and know who he is voting for. And this is impossible."
"M-Net gained many black viewers. How do you know that black people didn't vote for Elvis? People stopped voting long ago for only singing talent, they vote for the whole package. And in any case, it is the white people who buy the albums," said Abrahams.
M-Net spokesperson Lani Lombard said people voted for talent and not race. She said the top four were a clear indication of this. She said Idols was also not limited to DStv and that the Idols were introduced to people on radio stations, in local newspapers and even public performances.

Eva Longoria wears 'ham dress'

Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria trumped Lady Gaga's now infamous meat dress by sporting a tongue-in-cheek "Spanish ham dress" to host the MTV Europe Awards ceremony in Madrid on Sunday.

The glamorous 35-year-old actress, who had said before the event she planned to "pull off some way-out outfits", was true to her word.

After switching between half a dozen outfits, from magenta slit-front tuxedo jacket to black, shoulderless mini dress, she shimmered onstage in a layered satin gown.

But US singer Katy Perry, who picked up a best video award at the event for California Gurls, promptly whisked off Longoria's gown to reveal a shimmering black bustier and mini-shorts beneath.

And then the fashion finale, as Longoria waddled onstage in a life-size tribute to the "meat dress" - made entirely of raw steak - which Lady Gaga wore to the September MTV music awards in the United States.

Longoria's reply: the "Jamon Iberico" or Spanish Ham dress, shaped like a fleshy leg of cured ham, with only her head poking out of its centre.

"Lady Gaga couldn't be here tonight but she left this dress backstage," quipped Longoria. "Who knew Spanish ham was one of my colours?"

The flamboyant US singer - who was not present for the MTV awards ceremony - picked up three prizes including female artist of the year, with Canadian teen heartthrob Justin Bieber taking best male artist gong.

Lady Gaga, who bagged a slew of prizes at the US version of the awards in September, also took the best pop artist award and top song prize for Bad Romance at the music channel's European awards ceremony.

Gaga wins big at MTVE Awards

Lady Gaga won three prizes at this year's MTV Europe Music Awards on Sunday, claiming Best Female, Song, and Pop honours, just a year after taking the plaudits for best new act.

The ceremony converted two of the Spanish capital's most iconic landmarks into glittering venues from which to present its 2010 honours.

Tens of thousands of music fans crowded downtown Puerta de Alcala and Caja Magica to hear 14 separate performers, including acts by Jared Leto and Shakira.

Lady Gaga beamed her acceptance speech from Budapest, Hungary, where she was on tour. She interrupted a live act in the Hungarian capital to convey by video link her delight at the crop of awards which just kept on coming and spotlighted her song Bad Romance as the year's best.

Jon Bon Jovi

Best New Act went to Ke$ha, while the 16-year-old Justin Bieber won the Best Male Artist award, Paramore the Best Alternative act, and Eminem got the Best Hip Hop award.

The new MTV Global Icon award went to Jon Bon Jovi, who thrilled fans with a live performance at the spectacularly decorated, year-old Caja Magica venue, sometimes used for sports events.

At the centre of the Caja Magica hall a brilliantly illuminated hollow cube acted as a focal point for indoor acts while the Puerta de Alcala – once the location of the eastern entrance in the long disappeared city wall - provided an outdoor flavour to the show.

Katy Perry got Best Video for California Gurls and raised a cheer when she collected the award wearing an ornate, dark outfit.

Presenter Eva Longoria also regaled viewers with a dazzling array of elegant dresses and at one point had the audience in fits of laughter by saying she had discovered her long-lost Spanish relatives in Madrid. She then introduced four statuesque and muscular young men dressed only in underpants bearing the letters "Longoria" at the back. "That's my family, which I'm going to introduce to the girls backstage," she said.

First he conquered the world of hip-hop, then he became a world-renowned entrepreneur, married Beyonce, and now ... Jay-Z is getting an itch for politics. According to BBC Newsbeat, Jay-Z wants to fix the country not through his music, but with his political vision.

"Give me a chance," Jay-Z said. "Maybe in eight years, I'll be the president."

A staunch supporter of President Barack Obama, Hova reflected on the administration's bumpy first two years and said he's still holding out for his man to come through in the end.
"In order to judge someone, you have to judge what they inherit," he said. "He inherited the worst economy, war, just a horrible time in American history. So if we think he can solve that, I mean, we don't think he's God, do we. He's a human being. He's going to need time to figure that out."

"In order to get to that sort of success and that dream, you have to go through some peaks and valleys," Jay added. "It's been two years."

In the meantime, Jay-Z is headed to Bath, U.K., to collaborate with Kanye West on a new record.

Kim Kardashian After Bar Fight: 'I'm Totally Fine!'

In a blog post she called "About Last Night," Kim Kardashian talked about Thursday's altercation in a New York City club, which reportedly began when the sultry reality TV star snapped a photo with a male fan -- and then got doused with a drink by his jealous girlfriend.

"I want to address this because everyone has been asking me if I'm ok after the bar fight last night," she writes. "I'm totally fine, guys!"

"Last night Kourtney, Scott, Khloe and I went out to a bar to have a fun night on Khloe's last night in NYC. A drunk male fan came up to me and asked to take a picture, and I obliged, but his girlfriend, who was also drunk, got a little out of hand."

The Kardashian sisters have been in the Big Apple shooting footage for the upcoming reality series, 'Kim and Kourtney Take New York.'
Her blog post continued: "Luckily I had Scott and Khloe there to protect me. None of us were drinking... we just wanted a fun family night out, but when people see the cameras rolling, they try to get attention and I guess that's what happened when the drunk girl saw that we were filming KKTNY. I always take the high road, so we all left straight after and didn't feed into their drama....Ok, moving on!"

Kim may be trying to downplay the incident, but Kourtney's baby daddy Scott Disick was reportedly restrained by men at the club when he flew into a rage during the dustup, while Khloe Kardashian dove to the floor searching for a ring that flew off her finger, according to TMZ (she found it). Meanwhile, Life & Style reports that glasses were shattered and onlookers "were really scared" during the fight.

Earlier this week, Kim told Ryan Seacrest she hoped some fun nights out in New York would help her to experience her single status to the fullest.

"I'm down for some hookups," she said.

Lil Wayne

He's free as a bird and ready to party. Lil Wayne has called a 9' x 12' prison cell "home" for the last eight months, but he was released in early November. His yearlong prison sentence for gun charges was reduced to eight months for good behavior, but he spent his last month in solitary confinement after guards found him in possession of a contraband MP3 player. The big house didn't affect his rapper mojo. He released an LP I'm Not a Human Being from behind bars and its lead single 'Human' topped the charts.

Jay-Z and Kanye’s Watch the Throne To Drop in 2011

Fans will have to wait until next year for Kanye West and Jay-Z’s Watch the Throne album.
Originally, West planned to release Watch the Throne and My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy in November.
But Kanye confirmed yesterday (November 4) that the focus for the rest of the year will be his own LP and his G.O.O.D. team.
“It’s coming soon,” Kanye said during a conference call hosted by Def Jam. “It’s gonna be early next year, though.”
The duo’s work has been heavily featured during Kanye’s G.O.O.D. Fridays series on tracks like the “Power (Remix),” “Monster,” and “So Appalled.”
Last week’s song showcased the pair rhyming over the Pete Rock-produced “The Joy,” causing speculation on if the offering signaled the album’s direction.
Both artists have been recording since August. According to Jay-Z, they are close to wrapping up the 10-track album.
“Before I came into London we were in Bath at Peter Gabriel’s studio,” Jay-Z told Tim Westwood. “We recorded some songs there. It’s exciting that its coming out…[We’re] pretty close.”
At press time, no outside producers or guests emcees have been finalized.

Now Appearing: George W. Bush

WASHINGTON — When the hip-hop star Kanye West says he can “connect with” George W. Bush, perhaps it is time to think about whether America has begun to reconsider its 43rd president.
It was Mr. West, after all, who delivered one of the harshest attacks on Mr. Bush during his eight years in office. When Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans in 2005, Mr. West memorably charged that “George Bush doesn’t care about black people.”
After learning last week that Mr. Bush considered that the lowest moment of his presidency, Mr. West went on a Houston radio station to take it back. Noting that he too was accused of bigotry for interrupting Taylor Swift during an MTV awards ceremony last year, Mr. West said he now sympathizes with how his criticism stung Mr. Bush. “I really more connect with him just on a humanitarian level,” Mr. West said.
Whether the rest of the country is ready to connect with Mr. Bush again remains to be seen, but after nearly two years of silence, he is emerging from self-imposed exile to forcefully defend his record and begin the process of defining his legacy at a moment when his successor is on the ropes. As he releases his new memoir, hits the television circuit and prepares to break ground on his presidential center, Mr. Bush finds himself in an evolving place in American society.
Most Americans still do not view him favorably and a good portion still revile him for invading Iraq, waterboarding terror suspects and presiding over the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression. He is still a punchline, to many a failed president, the source of today’s economic and foreign policy troubles. And yet, with Mr. Obama increasingly unpopular and “Miss Me Yet?” T-shirts for sale at Washington’s Union Station a short walk from the Capitol, some polls suggest a slight softening of views. Mr. Obama’s blame-Bush strategy did not stop voters last week from returning Republicans to power in the House and handing them more seats in the Senate.
“The statute of limitations of attacking President Bush has passed,” said Don Stewart, a spokesman for Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, the Republican leader. “They spent a lot of time attacking President Bush, and they got unelected.”
Still, the newly elected Republicans are dancing gingerly around Mr. Bush as he returns to the public stage. In a way, they are borrowing from President Bill Clinton and “triangulating” not only away from Mr. Obama but also from Mr. Bush. Many Republican candidates, particularly those with Tea Party roots, ran against the former president’s spending policies and Wall Street bailout. In his election night victory speech, Representative John A. Boehner of Ohio, the presumed new House speaker, vowed “to take a new approach that hasn’t been tried before in Washington by either party.”
Jim Dyke, a Republican political consultant, said public attitudes toward Mr. Bush have begun to shift but at the same time, the new Congressional leaders need to carve their own path. “They’re wise to be independent and define themselves in a way that is more current and more relative to today’s environment,” he said.
“Given the great issues facing the nation at home and abroad,” added John Weaver, a political strategist who worked for Senator John McCain in his 2000 nomination battle with Mr. Bush, “there isn’t an appetite by the public in looking in the rear-view mirror.”
But Democrats hope Mr. Bush’s new high profile will help them frame the emerging Republican generation. Mark Mellman, a Democratic strategist, called Mr. Bush’s public tour “great news for Democrats.” He added: “The G.O.P. was lucky he was out of sight and out of mind through Tuesday. His reemergence on the national stage will reinforce voters’ already negative views of the G.O.P.”
With rare exception, like helping out with Haiti earthquake relief at Mr. Obama’s request, Mr. Bush has remained out of sight since leaving office, determined not to complicate his successor’s life with running commentary about current affairs. Even as he begins to promote his new book, “Decision Points,” to be published by Crown on Tuesday, he is avoiding any involvement in the political debate now consuming the country.
In the book, a copy of which was obtained last week by The New York Times, he has nothing but gracious things to say about Mr. Obama and makes little mention of his policy choices other than to praise him for sending more troops to Afghanistan. When Oprah Winfrey tried to get him to weigh in on Sarah Palin’s presidential chances in an interview to be aired later this week, Mr. Bush demurred. “You’re asking me to wade back into the swamp,” he said.
Until now, Mr. Bush has focused on writing the book, along with his ghostwriter and former White House speechwriter, Christopher Michel, as well as giving paid speeches, raising money for his presidential center and designing his public policy institute. After this week’s spurt of interviews with Ms. Winfrey, Matt Lauer and Candy Crowley, he will host a Nov. 16 groundbreaking ceremony for the George W. Bush Presidential Center at Southern Methodist University in Dallas.
He says he is using the institute to influence policy in his own way. “He doesn’t want to be in the current debate, certainly not the political debate,” said James K. Glassman, executive director of the institute. “He wants to be involved in policy in a big way, but with projects that are very forward looking and long term.”
So will Mr. Bush’s reputation improve with time? Many presidents are viewed more generously in later eras, like Harry S. Truman, Dwight D. Eisenhower, Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton. Even Lyndon B. Johnson and Richard M. Nixon have experienced moments of reassessment, their failures in Vietnam and Watergate tempered by appreciation for the opening to China or the Great Society. Still, their disappointments seem indelibly marked in the history books.
A Gallup poll in July found that 45 percent of Americans viewed Mr. Bush favorably, still lower than either Mr. Obama or Mr. Clinton but better than the 34 percent who approved of him when he left office in January 2009. At the same time, when voters were asked in exit polls last Tuesday who was most to blame for current economic woes, they mentioned Mr. Bush along with Wall Street and Mr. Obama.
Mr. Bush has said for years that he imagines history will ultimately appreciate his presidency, crediting him with confronting international terrorism and protecting the country from further attack after Sept. 11, 2001, while promoting freedom abroad and perhaps, if Iraq eventually improves, transplanting the idea of democracy to a once-hostile region. In his book, he recalls that as president he eulogized both Reagan and Gerald R. Ford, noting that both were remembered more warmly by the time they died, and expresses hope that he will be too.
Maybe he will, or maybe that is wishful thinking. In any case, one memoir and a few television interviews by themselves will not be enough to determine the eventual outcome.
“Whatever the verdict on my presidency, I’m comfortable with the fact that I won’t be around to hear it,” he writes. “That’s a decision point only history will reach.”

It appears that the lawsuit involving Suge Knight and Kanye West is far from over.
As Hip-Hop Wired previously reported,  a federal judge tossed the $1 million lawsuit this week,  a month before it was set to go to trial.

However Big Shug isn't feeling the judge's decision and is moving forward with the lawsuit anyway.

Mariah Carey: 'I Won't Be Wearing Flip-Flops'

Mariah Carey is unhappy with her concerned husband's choice of footwear for her now she's expecting his child - not all the flat shoes he has bought her fit her sense of style.

Carey's man Nick Cannon went public last week with his thoughts about his pregnant wife's footwear fetish, insisting he wanted her to climb down from her high-heels and opt for more sensible shoes now she's with child.

After a comical argument with Carey on his radio show, Cannon revealed plans to go shopping for flats for his wife - and spent last weekend picking the most appropriate footwear for a pregnant woman. But Carey wasn't impressed.

She says, "He's really trying to be responsible about it... He came home with all these bags and I'm looking and I'm like, 'Aw, that was really sweet!' I'm looking at them, trying to be nice... because I'm a little specific about my stuff. Every one of them had that thing... between the toe, like a regular flip-flop and that just doesn't work... My feet repel that."

However, Carey intends to get serious about starting her own flat shoe collection - and that starts with learning how to walk properly. The Hero singer explains, "Ever since I was little... I would walk on my tippy-toes and I didn't know why; it's just how my feet are."

Lil Wayne has been released from Rikers Island jail in New York after serving eight months on a gun charge.
The Grammy award-winning rapper started his sentence in March but was let out early for good behaviour.
He pleaded guilty last year to attempted weapon possession after a loaded gun was found on his tour bus.
Lil Wayne's release was revealed on New York's Department of Correction website and his managers are saying he plans to travel to his home in Miami.
The 28-year-old rapper's latest album, I Am Not a Human Being, hit number one in the US album chart after its release in September.
He's the first artist in 15 years to release a number one record on the US Billboard 200 chart while serving a prison sentence.
Tupac Shakur hit the top of the US album chart with his 1995 LP Me Against the World while in prison on a sexual assault conviction.
Lil Wayne also had the best-selling album of 2008 and won a best rap album Grammy for Tha Carter III.
American president Barack Obama recently told Rolling Stone magazine that he has some of the rapper's music on his MP3 player.
Lil Wayne's sentencing was delayed twice earlier this year.
His first court appearance was postponed because he had to have some dental work carried out while the second was rearranged after a fire broke out at the court house in New York.
'Never scared' Lil Wayne, real name Dwayne Carter Jr., was sent to jail in March after a handgun was discovered on his tour bus in Manhattan in 2007.
He was put in solitary confinement at Rikers Island after wardens found he'd broken prison rules.
The star was found with a charger in his prison cell and headphones for a digital music player.
The rapper was segregated from other inmates for the final month of his sentence and confined to his new cell for 23 hours a day.
He was banned from socialising with other inmates and from watching TV and was only allowed one telephone call a week.
He told fans through a website this week that he "was never scared, worried nor bothered" behind bars.
While in jail, Lil Wayne also pleaded guilty to a charge of drug possession in Arizona and was sentenced to three years' probation.

George Bush calls Kanye West racism claims 'disgusting'

Kanye West and George Bush
Kanye West said president George Bush "didn't care about black people"
Former US president George Bush says Kanye West calling him racist on live TV was "an all-time low" in his presidency.
The rapper made the remarks during a benefit concert for victims of Hurricane Katrina back in 2005, saying he "didn't care about black people".
In an interview with NBC's Today show, George Bush says Kanye West accused him of being racist.
He said: "I didn't appreciate it then. I don't appreciate it now."
"It's one thing to say, 'I don't appreciate the way he's handled his business.' It's another thing to say, 'this man's a racist.'

President Bush"I resent it, it's not true. And it was one of the most disgusting moments in my presidency."
At the televised fundraiser in New York, Kanye West also claimed America was not set up "to help the poor, the black people, the less well-off as slow as possible".
The star made his accusation after thousands of black people were affected by the hurricane that hit Louisiana and other Gulf Coast states.
The President flies over New Orleans to see the damage caused by Katrina George Bush was criticised for his handling of the natural disaster and was photographed on Air Force One above New Orleans as thousands of people were forced to leave their homes.
Nearly 2,000 people died in the hurricane and the flooding that followed.
But the former President said his record was strong "when it came to race relations and giving people a chance".
He gave the interview to NBC to promote his memoir, Decision Points.
George Bush said Kanye West's comments were the low point of his presidency which ended after eight years in 2008.

Lady Gaga waxworks to go on show at Madame Tussauds

Waxworks of Lady Gaga are to be simultaneously unveiled in eight locations around the world, Madame Tussauds has announced.
Each figure of the pop star will be dressed in a different outfit made famous by the flamboyant singer.
The models, which will go on display next month, are being made in the same London studio at a cost of £1.2m.
"She is the perfect subject for the biggest figure launch in Madame Tussauds' history," a spokeswoman said.
Fans of the chart-topping singer will have to wait until the day of launch to discover which figure is displayed in their city.
They will be in London, Amsterdam, Berlin, New York, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Shanghai and Hong Kong.
Madame Tussauds added that the styles chosen for the waxworks would be "classic Gaga".
Among the looks that are set to be unveiled are the singer's latex body suit with Minnie Mouse-style buns worn on a visit to BBC Radio 1.
A lace body stocking and face mask topped off with a Marie Antoinette wig, which she wore at the Brit Awards earlier this year, will be another of the looks.
But Lady Gaga's dress made from raw meat, which she wore at the MTV Video Music Video Awards in September, will not adorn any of the waxworks.

Rihanna and Eminem revisit Do Love The Way You Lie

A sequel to the smash single 'Love The Way You Lie' will feature on Rihanna's new album.

The original single topped charts around the world for weeks at a time after its release in August, but Rihanna was initially cagey about doing a sequel.

She told MTV News,'When I first heard the idea about doing a part two, I was just completely against it. I just felt like you couldn't beat the original. There's no way you can outdo that, so why compete with it?'

But she got over it and the song 'Love The Way You Lie (Part II)' will appear on her forthcoming album Loud.

In the latest installment, the roles are reversed, as Rihanna sings the majority of the mournful piano ballad with Eminem stepping in for a verse towards the end.

The song isn't currently planned to be a single. The third single from the album is supposedly going to be opening track 'S&M'.

'Love The Way You Lie (Part II)' will be the final track on Loud, which is due out on November 10 in the US and November 12 in Australia.

Lil Wayne emerges from jail a new man

Lil Wayne was freed from jail on Thursday after serving eight months in a gun case, emerging with a hot new album, well-wishes from a former president and a deepened appreciation for his fans.

"Welcome home, Weezy!" the rap star's Facebook page proclaimed, using one of his nicknames, after his morning release from the Rikers Island jail complex. He was freed at a location jail officials and his lawyer wouldn't disclose.

His managers have said he planned to head for his home in Miami, where they're planning a welcome-home party Sunday.

"I was never scared, worried nor bothered by the situation" behind bars, Lil Wayne said Tuesday through Weezythanxyou.com, a website he set up to give fans a glimpse of his life in jail.

Lil Wayne, who had the best-selling album of 2008 and won a best rap album Grammy with The Carter III, kept his career in high gear while locked up for having a loaded gun on his tour bus in 2007.

His latest album, I Am Not a Human Being - released while he was in solitary confinement in September - hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart last month. He also was featured on a string of hits by other artists, including Drake and Eminem, that came out while he was incarcerated - and he recorded a verse for the Drake/Jay-Z collaboration Light Up over on the phone for a Rikers Remix that made the rounds online.

President Barack Obama recently told Rolling Stone he has some Lil Wayne music on his iPod. And former President Bill Clinton praised the rapper's abilities during a phone interview with a Pittsburgh radio station Tuesday, adding that "what I hope will happen is that he has a good life now."

Lil Wayne, born Dwayne Carter Jr., pleaded guilty in October 2009 to attempted weapon possession, admitting he'd had a loaded, semiautomatic .40-caliber gun on his bus after a Manhattan concert.

He started a yearlong sentence in March but got time off for good behaviour, despite a disciplinary knock that sent him to solitary for the last month of his term. A charger and headphones for a digital music player were found in his cell in May, jail officials said. The items are considered contraband.

The rapper later acknowledged the misstep on his Weezythanxyou site, where his associates typed up and posted periodic letters he wrote on topics ranging from his daily Rikers routine to new songs he'd heard and liked on the radio.

He also provided specific, individual responses to some of the fan mail that flooded his cell and became, he said, a source of cheer behind bars.

"I laughed with some of you, reasoned with some of you, and even cried with some of you," he wrote in a letter posted Tuesday. "I never imagined how much impact my words and life can have."

But he assured fans the impact hasn't completely changed an artist known for ingenious work that sometimes borders on weird: "I will be the same Martian I was when I left, just better."

A few die-hard fans huddled in the pre-dawn rain Thursday outside the Rikers complex, hoping to get a glimpse of him.

A rapper since his childhood, New Orleans-born Lil Wayne released his first solo album, Tha Block Is Hot, in 1999. His hits include Got Money, Lollipop, and A Milli.

Lil Wayne, who turned 28 in jail, envisions recording new music and releasing a long-rumoured Tha Carter IV next year, and he may also make a book out of a journal he kept in jail, according to his managers and associates.

But his priorities at the moment are spending time with his family - he has four children - and the Cash Money Records labelmates to whom he often refers as family, too.

"Family first ... then back to business," Cash Money co-founder Bryan "Birdman" Williams said in an interview last week. - Sapa-AP

NICKI MINAJ, EMINEM ATTACK LIL’ KIM IN ROMAN’S REVENGE

After Lil’ Kim spent a good portion of 2010 taking potshots at Nicki Minaj, the Harajuku Barbie has finally fired back. The Young Money rapper released the track ’Roman’s Revenge’ featuring Eminem this past weekend, sporting a beat from Swizz Beatz and effectively breaking her silence on the beef with lyrics aimed at her rival.
Rapping from the perspective of her alter ego Roman Zolanski, Nicki references Lil’ Kim’s previous comments that lashed out at her. "The f--- I look like, getting back to a has-been ?/ Yeah I said it, has-been/ Hang it up, flat screen," she raps on the track, appearing on her upcoming debut ’Pink Friday,’ due Nov. 22. "You out of work, I know it’s tough / But enough is enough."
Nicki continues with even pointier lyrics. "Is this the thanks that I get for putting you b----es on ?/ Is it my fault that all of you b----es gone ?/ Should have sent a thank you note, you little ho / Now, I’mma wrap your coffin with a bow," she snarks. "Nicki, she just mad ’cause you took the spot / Word ? That b---- mad because I took the spot ? / Well b----, if you ain’t s---tin’ then get off the pot / Got some n----s out in Brooklyn that’ll off ya top."
Minaj never expected to land a duet with Eminem for her upcoming debut album Pink Friday – and was thrilled when he accepted.
She tells MTV.com, “We went out on a whim and put it in the air like, ‘It’d be great if he would collaborate with us.’ I remember I kept talking about it, and I thought, ‘It can’t hurt.’ I sent him one record, and he didn’t love it. He didn’t say, ‘I don’t love it’ ; he just said, ‘Can you send me something that’s a little more me ?’
“I sent him an email and thanked him for that, just having enough respect. Sometimes people don’t respond. He had the respect, at least, to treat me like a peer.”
But the star decided to try her luck again and reached out to Eminem with her song Roman’s Revenge.
She adds, “He picked up the phone for that one… Even right now, I’m in shock… The real Slim Shady ! It was the most fun song on Pink Friday. It gave me life.”

Kim Kardashian is reportedly dating Kanye West

The 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians' star - who has been single since splitting from NFL player Miles Austin last month ' was spotted with the rapper in a Chicago restaurant earlier this week and onlookers claim the pair were all over each other.

One told America's In Touch magazine: 'Kanye had his arm around her all evening! He was rubbing her knee all night - they definitely looked like a couple."

However, it seems Kanye may have a rival for Kim's affections as she has also been linked to singer John Mayer.

The 30-year-old socialite was spotted on a date with the renowned ladies' man in New York recently where sources claim the pair were seeing if they had any chemistry.

One said: "They brought along other friends, but the idea was to see if they would hit it off."

Now friends claim the date was a success and the couple are planning more outings.

Although it could be that neither man stands a chance as Kim has said she is thrilled to have reached her "flirty" 30s.

The sexy star hit the landmark age yesterday (21.10.10) and rather than be worried about entering the new decade of her life she is very excited.

She wrote on her twitter page: "UH OH The big 3-0!!!! Why does everyone call it The Dirty 30? Its The Flirty 30 to me! LOL (sic)"

Kanye West has claimed his treatment of Taylor Swift made her more famous

While the controversial rapper admitted his behaviour ' when he stormed on stage at the MTV Video Music Awards during Taylor's Best Female Video acceptance speech and ranted that Beyonce Knowles should have won ' was unacceptable, he claimed it helped make the country singer even more popular.

He said: ' feel like when Taylor was getting all those magazine covers, she was all good then.

' feel completely empathetic and sympathise with that moment of her feeling bad, that spawned her to have one million magazine covers and be the most popular artist in the world, but in that moment of her feeling bad, I do feel bad about being the cause of that.'

Although the 'Stronger' hitmaker apologised to the 20-year-old songstress, he claimed interruptions at awards shows happen all the time.

Speaking on US radio show 'Mojo in the Morning' he said: 'When I talked to Taylor I asked her, 'What do you feel?'.and I said we know I was rude, I'm sorry, I cut you off. Awards shows play music.they cut people off all the time.''

The 33-year-old star ' who took an extended break from music after the incident ' revealed he now hopes to move on.

He explained: "Personally, I'm better than I've ever been. I'm patching up my public image and where I am as an artist and where people perceive me.'

Jessica Simpson's new boyfriend 'easygoing'

The 'Dukes of Hazard' actress' sister Ashlee revealed she and husband Pete Wentz sometimes go on double dates with Jessica and her new man, NFL football player Eric Johnson, and she enjoys his gentle nature.

She told E!: 'He's just really easygoing, they're a fantastic couple. We're definitely, like, all a big family, so we double date all the time."

Ashlee has also lifted the lid on her and Pete's Halloween weekend with their 23-month old son Bronx, and her decision to crop her hair to short and blonde.

Ashlee added: 'For me it's a fun change with my hair, I had fun, just a new do, chop it all off, be blond again, good times!

'We had the best Halloween together, Bronx wore several different costumes, but I can't tell you what.'

Although she enjoyed Halloween, Ashlee admits her favourite holiday is just around the corner, and she is already getting in the festive mood now.

She said: ''m obsessed with holidays, I'm, like, ready for Christmas music now, I just get that way, I can't help it.'

The 'Outta My Head (Ay Ya Ya)' singer is also working on a fourth studio album, but she won't release anything for a while, as she is concentrating on her family life.

She added: ' am working on it, but I'm taking my time, my little boy is my priority, I'm having a blast, but sometime late next year.

LeAnn's Engagement: Anatomy of a Twit Storm

Huh! You'd think LeAnn Rimes would be in a better mood, considering she and Eddie Cibrian are "beyond happy and in love" and, incidentally, getting ready to tie the knot.
This afternoon, the singer unleashed an impressively long chain of tweets directed at E! News to express what we're interpreting as sour grapes because we broke the news not only that she's engaged, but that Eddie is "pissed" that they missed out on selling the exclusive to another outlet.
First, let us take you back 24 hours in time to explain why we're standing by our reporting...
PHOTOS: Celeb Weddings We Can't Wait For
On Thursday afternoon, E! News got it from a most reliable family source that Eddie and LeAnne are engaged.
Next step was to contact reps for both. Eddie's didn't respond, but Rimes' rep replied with a "no comment."
After publishing the exclusive last night, we heard back from our source this morning that Eddie was "pissed" that E! News got the jump on his proposal—thereby getting in the way of whatever monetary deal he and LeAnn may have been working out with another outlet.
Ever hear that ol' Shakespeare line, "The lady doth protest too much"?
"Ok, I've about had it with the lack of 'reporting' with E News," LeAnn went off on Twitter today. "The fact that our 'engagement' has spread so furiously over the past 24 hours off of an E News article that is 150% untrue just shows you the lack of credible 'sources' they seem to find and build a story around. When CNN is calling my publicist off of a lie E News has reported, the media world seriously has a problem with their lack of responsibility to the public to actually report the truth."
CNN got in on the action, too? Neat!
Meanwhile, we're thinking this all makes perfect sense so far—especially when you factor in the couple's twit pic from Halloween—a "practice run", LeAnn called it—and the news that Eddie's ex-wife, Brandi Glanville, would be getting together with LeAnn next week to "sit down and talk."
When contacted about Eddie's twit pic last week, LeAnn's rep said explicitly it was "just in Halloween fun."
And yet our latest engagement query was met with a "no comment." (And today, the rep stuck to the talking point of the hour—LeAnn skipped a Shape party last night because she was under the weather.)
Meanwhile, things seem awfully wonderful over in paradise, according to LeAnn's Twitter rant (although she does appear to be on the verge of breaking up with E!):
"Eddie and I are beyond happy and in love and look forward to one day sharing such private news with you all," she wrote, insisting that "nothing has been 'exclusively' broken E News except maybe some of your credibility, sorry...I'M PREGNANT TOO!!! LOL"
Hmmm...
"Thanks to all of our wonderful fans for the premature congats," she concluded, "but for now, let's all be happy we're happy and still and will remain together! Eddie and I felt we couldn't let this rumor go on any longer."
Wonder how long they'll put off their engagment announcement just to spite us...
Any takers?
